A worried senior citizen called her doctor’s office with a very serious question.
“Doctor, is it true that the medication you prescribed has to be taken for the rest of my life?”
“Yes,” the doctor replied. “I’m afraid so.”
There was a long, uncomfortable silence.
Then she asked, “Doctor… just how serious is my condition?”
The doctor paused.
“Why do you ask?”
She sighed and said, “Because my prescription says ‘NO REFILLS.’”
The doctor suddenly realized the patient wasn’t worried about her health anymore.
She was worried about the pharmacy’s commitment to the treatment plan.
