Donald Trump may believe it is his destiny to’make America great again’, but there is no evidence that his contentious presidency was predestined.
When it comes to Barron Trump’s future – Trump and Melania’s youngest son – we may have a better notion of how things will unfold. Or so a few Republican conspiracy theorists believe.
There’s a peculiar theory that has circulated since Trump took office in 2017, claiming that he and his family are ‘time travellers’.
The entire plot revolves around a children’s book produced in 1893 by American writer and lawyer Ingersoll Lockwood.
Oddly, while spelled with one less ‘r’, the novel is titled Baron Trump’s Marvelous Underground Journey, and it follows the exploits of a little aristocratic boy and his dog, Bulger, who live in ‘Castle Trump.
The book contains significant parallels between the protagonist and his family dynamic and that of the actual Barron, who is presently enrolled at New York University’s Stern School of Business.
Not only are their names pretty much identical, but in Lockwood’s work, Baron is guided by a mentor figure named Don Fum – a ‘learned Spaniard’. While Don Fum is a Spanish honorific meaning Mr, many have drawn parallels between Don and Donald Trump.
Baron is born into extreme wealth, but seeks a journey of development in his own right, believing there to be more to life than riches and reputation.
In the book, the character’s assignment takes him to Russia, implying even another probable similarity given Trump’s recent conversations with Russia’s President Putin regarding the invasion of Ukraine.
Even more spooky, the volumes appear to prophesy a period of intense political turmoil in Baron’s country.
For starters, it alludes to secret facts and ancient civilizations, which some conspiracy theorists say could be linked to government bunkers, political scandals, and cover-ups in the actual world.
Lockwood’s book includes terrifying animals and underground travels, which some say could be analogous to the political ‘draining the swap’ that Trump has promised to work on for several years.
More worrisome, however, is that another of the author’s written works, The Last President, envisions an outsider from New York – which happens to be Trump’s hometown – being elected to a strong position and taking control of America’s fate.
Socialists mob Fifth Avenue, where Trump Tower still stands today, until the new leader appoints a guy named Pence to his cabinet in the hopes of restoring peace.
Is this an explicit prophesy of Trump’s rise to political power? Well, some fans appear to believe so.
After the notion was posted on Reddit, one fan commented: “Too many coincidences is mathematically impossible.”
Another remarked, “Wow, so Back to the Future was real too?”
