After a long, exhausting day at work, a commuter found his seat on the evening train, leaned back, and closed his eyes, hoping for a little peace and quiet.
The train had barely left the station when the woman beside him pulled out her phone and started talking… loudly.
“Hi, sweetheart! It’s Sue. I’m on the train.”
“Yes, I know it’s the 6:30 instead of the 4:30, but I had a really long meeting.”
“No, honey, not with Kevin from accounting. It was with my boss.”
“No, darling, you’re the only man in my life.”
“Of course I’m telling the truth! Cross my heart!”
The conversation went on… and on… and on.
Fifteen minutes later, the entire train knew Sue’s schedule, her coworkers’ names, and how deeply she loved her boyfriend.
Finally, the man beside her couldn’t take it anymore.
He leaned toward her phone and said loud enough for the caller to hear,
“Sue… hang up the phone and come back to bed.”
The train instantly fell silent.
Sue’s face turned bright red.
Let’s just say… she never made another loud phone call on public transportation again.
