In the caption of the video, the Duchess of Sussex opened up about how Guy first came into her life. In 2015, she adopted Guy, from a kill shelter, County Animal Shelter, in Kentucky, where he was facing only some days to live.

The Duchess noted, “I swooped him up….and fell in love,” adding, “They referred to him as ‘the little guy’ because he was so small and frail, so I named him ‘Guy.’ And he was the best guy any girl could have asked for.”

Meghan reminisced how Guy had been with her through every chapter of her life. She recalled about his presence during her time on the legal series “Suits,” her engagement and wedding to Prince Harry, and even as she stepped into motherhood. The Duchess is a mom to Archie, 5, and Lilibet, 3.

She noted Guy was always by her side, sharing in all her milestones and joys. “The quiet, the chaos, the calm, the comfort,” Meghan divulged.

Meghan also narrated the sad health issues Guy endured shortly before her move to the UK. After a terrible ac:cident, he underwent a lot of surgeries and was confined to a clinic for months. Doctors doubted Guy would ever walk again. However, Meghan shared that with the care of Dr. Noel Fitzpatrick, his team, and her late-night visits to Surrey with Harry, Guy made an incredible recovery.

She thanked Noel, Queen West Animal Hospital in Toronto, her current vets, and her supportive community for their unwavering care for Guy during his challenging journey. “Thank you for loving him so,” she gushed.

Meghan shared that she made a decision to go public with the news of Guy’s passing because he will appear in her upcoming Netflix series, “With Love, Meghan.” She added, ” I hope you’ll come to understand why I am so devastated by his loss. I think you may fall a little bit in love too.”

Her grief was evident as Meghan wrote, “I have cried too many tears to count – the type of tears that make you get in the shower with the absurd hope that the running water on your face will somehow make you not feel them, or pretend they’re not there. But they are. And that’s okay too.”

Concluding her heartfelt tribute, Meghan expressed deep gratitude for the years of unconditional love she received from Guy. She called him “My sweet Guy,” adding, “You filled my life in ways you’ll never know ❤️‍🩹.”
