Cleaning the TV screen is critical for ensuring sharp and bright visuals, which not only improves the viewing experience but also protects the eyes. However, cleaning the TV screen properly is essential to ensuring the device’s visual quality and endurance.

Why shouldn’t you use tissue paper to clean the TV screen?

Many people continue to use tissue paper to clean TV screens because of convenience, unaware that this practice is harmful.

According to electronics experts, new TV screens, particularly LED, OLED, and LCD TVs, are far more complicated and sensitive than older generations. To improve the viewing experience, the screen’s glass is often covered with an anti-reflective and anti-scratch layer. However, if not properly maintained and cleaned, this covering becomes extremely thin and vulnerable.

If you use tissue paper to clean your TV screen, you may accidentally damage the coating. Although tissue paper is smooth, it is not soft enough and can cause small scratches on the screen’s surface. You may not notice these scratches at first, but the screen will eventually get dull or scratched, lowering image quality.

Furthermore, tissue paper can leave behind microscopic particles after wiping, making the screen appear dirtier than before you wiped it.

1. Turn off the television and use a special cleaning cloth to carefully wipe the dust from the surface of the television screen in one direction. In general, you can use felt napkins, felt cloths, microfiber cloths, and soft, lint-free cotton napkins.

2. Spray a specific cleaning solution for smart TVs onto the special cleaning cloth and gently wipe the display screen. Today’s smart TVs are often relatively thin, so avoid squeezing the display screen too hard.

3. If the cleaning solution does not work, combine 3% vinegar and water in a 1:1 ratio. The vinegar solution is effective in removing fingerprints and household chemicals.

4. After wiping, simply let it dry naturally on the TV screen does not need to be wiped every day.
