Cleaning a steam iron with lemon, baking soda and vinegar can be an effective way to remove mineral deposits and other waste. Here’s how you can do it:

Material required:

Lemon: The natural acid helps dissolve mineral deposits.
Baking soda: Gentle abrasive that cleans without scratching.
White vinegar: Nature’s acidic helps to break down dirt.
Cloth or soft sponge
Water

Instructions:

1. Prepare the cleaning solution:

Mix a part of water, a part of vinegar and a tablespoon of lemon juice in a bowl.
Add enough baking soda to create a paste.

2. Apply the mixture:

Turn off the iron and make sure it is completely cold.
Apply paste to iron plate with a soft cloth. Prevent pasta from entering the vapor holes.

3. Clean up:

After application, let the mixture sit on the iron plate for a few minutes.

4. Steam cleaning:

Fill the iron tank with equal parts vinegar and water.
Turn on the iron in medium light and let it steam until the tank is empty to eliminate any buildup inside the vapor vents.

Make sure your iron is clean and free of cleaning residue.
