A dog ran down a hospital corridor with a black bag in its mouth: when doctors finally caught up with it, they learned something terrible

It was a typical day at the city hospital.

The air conditioner hummed steadily in the emergency room, nurses were registering new patients, doctors were quietly talking in the hallways, and IVs were slowly moving through the wards.

The head nurse was checking the appointment log when suddenly a quick patter of claws on tiles was heard from the end of the hallway.

A dog appeared from around the corner, as if from nowhere – a large, reddish-brown dog.

He ran confidently, as if he knew exactly where he was going.

He held a black bag in his teeth, tightly tied at the top.

The nurse immediately raised her head and exclaimed:

– What is a dog doing here?! This is unsanitary! Get rid of it!

Two doctors, hearing her scream, rushed to intercept her – the surgeon and the nurse on duty.

They quickly ran after the dog, but it was faster: it rushed past them, ignoring the patients and their surprised looks, and continued racing straight down the long hospital corridor.

The patients were looking out of their rooms, some were laughing, some were talking in bewilderment, but the dog did not notice anyone.

Suddenly, at the door with the red sign, it stopped abruptly. The black bag fell out of its mouth onto the floor. The dog began to whine pitifully, then switched to a loud, piercing bark.

It rose up on its hind legs and began to scratch the door with its front paws, as if begging to be let in.

The doctors finally caught up with the dog, and that was when they finally understood why the dog was behaving so strangely and why it was running around the hospital.

The nurse, out of breath, sat down and carefully took the bag.

When she untied the knot, everyone froze: inside lay a tiny puppy, barely breathing, with its paw twisted at an unnatural angle.

There were red marks on the fur.

“He… he brought it here for help,” the surgeon said quietly.

It turned out later that the puppy had been hit by a car not far from the hospital. The dog was obviously its mother.

He somehow guessed that this was where they could save the baby.

The doctors had to improvise – the hospital, of course, did not have an operating room for animals.

But the kind-hearted surgeon and two other doctors found the necessary instruments and treated the wound.

The puppy was given a splint and an injection.

The entire staff was amazed at how smart and determined the dog was.

While the doctors were working, he sat by the door and quietly whined, not taking his eyes off his little friend.

When the operation was over and the puppy was carried out, the dog carefully licked his muzzle and then laid his head next to him, as if calming him down.
