A 13-year-old boy prevents a kidnapper with a $3 toy his mother purchased for him.

When Owen Burns returned home from school on an ordinary afternoon, he heard his sister screaming.

He was irritated by the interruption her screams caused, and he saw nothing ominous in her squeals for aid.

However, when he peeked out his window, he was startled but recovered quickly enough to make a life-saving decision.

Owen Burns was settling in to play his favorite game “Call of Duty: Black Ops II” on his PlayStation 3 when he heard his sister cry from their yard. The 13-year-old felt irritated because she thought she was just playing around.

Moments later, the youngster glanced out his bedroom window to see a stranger dragging his 8-year-old sister to the woods that surrounded their house.

The scared adolescent grabbed his slingshot and grabbed any available ammunition, which included a stone and a rock. He aimed directly at the abductor and hit him hard in the eyes.

The second time, he hit him in the chest. “He was swearing. He was cussing,” Owen told the press.

So cops came back today searching agian for this dudes sweater and they found it was actually a shrit thing he threw in…

The meeting took place in broad daylight at the Burns’ house in Alpena Township, Michigan. Their mother, Maggie Burns, stated that kidnappings were unheard of in the area.

At the conclusion of the encounter, his 8-year-old sister was safe, if likely shaken by the episode. The kidnapper was a 17-year-old who the Michigan State Police did not identify but said will be charged as an adult.

“He really is the one that … I believe saved his sister’s either life or from something seriously bad happening to her,” Lt. John Grimshaw said at a news conference, calling Owen’s actions “extraordinary.” This young boy’s actions were nothing short of heroic!

He also stated that the young man should be commended for his efforts.

The adolescent used a standard slingshot. His mother purchased it on discount for $3. The teen would occasionally go out to his yard and practice target shooting with old orange juice cans, which appeared to improve his aim.

When the youngster first observed a kidnapper attempting to steal his sister, he had one thought: if the stranger was successful, he would most certainly turn his sister into a sєх slαvє σr kíll hєr.

Grimshaw described the experience, stating that the kidnapper “came from behind her, grabbed her like you see in the movies — hand over the mouth, arm around the waist — and was attempting to pull her into the woods.”

Owen then reached for his slingshot and fired at him. When his sister was rescued from the kidnapper’s clutches, she ran inside the house, screaming, telling her brother she had been nearly kíllєd. Owen became outraged and stormed outside, cursing the kidnapper. He threw a baseball at him, which missed. He then attempted to strike him again with his slingshot, but the rubber broke, rendering his third attempt ineffective.

The siblings then called their mother, who had stopped by a relative’s house to help out while on her way home from work. When she heard her children’s unintelligible and distraught voices on the phone, she recognized the word ‘kidnapper’ and ran home to notify the police.

Maggie said: “I was in shock for a few days,”

The seventeen-year-old kidnapper was discovered hiding at a nearby gas station. He was then charged with attempted kidnapping, attempted felony assault, and misdemeanor assault and battery in Alpena County District Court.

“He had obvious signs of an injury consistent with those that would have been sustained from the slingshot strikes to his head and chest,” the police said in a press release.

Maggie questioned his son’s claim that he hit the kidnapper on the face and chest accurately from 200 feet away. However, the police validated the tale, stating that while they interviewed the man, the marble-induced goose egg on his forehead became larger.

“You said I always lie!” Owen said to his mother.

“I just couldn’t believe it,” she replied. “It just didn’t sound real, until there was proof. It sounds like something you would see in the movies.”
